Other Evaluation Services

Other than the specific evaluations already listed, I also provide other psychological and neuropsychological assessment options, as I realize your/your child's symptoms and concerns may not be as clear cut as seeking out an assessment for a specific diagnosis. During your free consultation call, we will discuss your presenting concerns, as well as your expectations & hopes for the evaluation, in order to best determine the best course for your/your child's individualized assessment.

Psychological testing is utilized when it is believed that mental health issues are affecting a person’s mental state, social, academic and/or work performance, or functioning in other areas of life. At Spectrum, common reasons for a psychological evaluation referral may include:

  • Mood swings

  • Impulsive behavior

  • Aggressive behavior

  • Interpersonal problems

  • Adjustment problems (work or school)

  • Possible Mood Disorder (Depression or Bipolar)

  • Possible Personality Disorder

  • Possible Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Psychotic episodes (Schizophrenia)

  • History of abuse, neglect, or assault

  • Family problems and life stressors

 

Neuropsychological evaluations are provided when there is a concern that cognitive problems are significantly interfering with a person's ability to function in certain aspects of life, whether that is a relationship, work, school, or activities of daily living. At Spectrum, other than ADHD, autism, IQ, and learning disability, other common reasons for a neuropsychological evaluation referral may include:

  • General memory problems 

  • Attention problems

  • Problem solving difficulty

  • Language/speech difficulties or changes

  • Difficulty managing emotions

  • Sensitivity to sensory input

  • Hand-eye coordination difficulties

  • Difficulties or changes in fine motor skills

  • Hyperactivity

  • Academic struggles

  • Giftedness

  • Sudden personality changes

  • Recently diagnosed neurologic conditions (Parkinson’s, MS, Stroke)
